HAYWARD -- Cal State LA's women's soccer team found itself on the right side of another tight decision on a windy day at Cal State East Bay on Sunday.
The Golden Eagles got a second-half goal from
Natalie Reynoso and made it stand up for a big 1-0 win over the Pioneers in a California Collegiate Athletic Association contest. The lone goal of the game came from Reynoso in the 68th minute and came off a corner kick.
Destiny Moedano picked up the assist.
Cal State LA had a 16-11 edge in shots, including a 10-5 margin in the second half. The Golden Eagles had a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks and had all three in the second half, including the one that led to the game's only goal.
Paulina Chaidez had four shots, all on goal, to lead the Golden Eagles, while
Faith Baumgartner had three shots and
Anahie Duran had two.
Amanda Leal made three saves in goal for the Golden Eagles.
