Box Score LOS ANGELES – Cal State LA's Karlos Santos was recognized by the California Collegiate Athletic Association following her epic performance in a five-set win over Cal State Dominguez Hills last Saturday.
 
Santos was named the CCAA Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading the Golden Eagles to a come-from-behind 17-25, 15-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-8 victory. Cal State LA (7-4, 3-0 CCAA) remained unbeaten in conference play with the win.
 
Santos was a huge reason why. She recorded 30 kills and 26 digs in one of the best individual performances in the program's history. The 30 kills are No. 4 all-time at Cal State LA and the most since Kymberly Silveyra had 31 against UC San Diego in 2013. Her 80 attacks are the third-most in program history and the most since Iona Lofrano had 82 attacks against Cal State San Bernardino in 2015.
 
Santos accounted for more than half of the team's 59 kills in the contest and she also led the team in digs. She also had a service ace and her 31 points are the most since Lofrano had 31.5 against Cal State San Bernardino in 2015.
 
Santos currently leads the CCAA in kills per set with 4.20. She leads the Golden Eagles with 168 kills and 15 service aces and she is second in digs with 135.
 
Cal State LA will host its first game of the 2017 season this Saturday against Humboldt State at 7 p.m.
