One of the best defenders in program history, Jaclyn Orozco joins the Cal State LA staff as an assistant coach. Orozco appeared in 66 games with 59 starts in a four-year playing career at Cal State LA and was a major part of the best defensive teams in program history.

She earned All-West Region honors twice and All-California Collegiate Athletic Association recognition three times. After debuting in 2021 with nine appearances and two starts, Orozco was a mainstay in the lineup over the next three seasons and helped Cal State LA field one of the top defenses in the country.

She earned second-team All-West Region and first-team All-CCAA honors as a sophomore in 2022. She was the Most Valuable Defensive Player at the CCAA Tournament that year and led the Golden Eagles to three shutouts in three games and to their first tournament title since 2014. That earned Cal State LA a spot in the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2019.

As a junior in 2023, she had another outstanding season and started all 19 games. She earned first-team All-West Region honors and received first-team All-CCAA honors for a second straight season. She helped the team record 12 shutouts and reach the NCAA playoffs for a second consecutive season.

Orozco concluded her playing career in 2024 and started in 17 of 18 games while playing through injury. She earned second-team All-CCAA honors, and also notched the first assist of her career.

Cal State LA had a 29-11-18 record with 34 shutouts over her last three seasons.

Orozco graduated from Cal State LA in 2025 with her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.
