A former collegiate tennis player who is now the voice of tennis on the Internet, Ken Thomas joins the Cal State L.A.’s women’s tennis program as an assistant coach.

Thomas reaches a global tennis audience with his incorporated, RadioTennis.com. He provides live audio play-by-play of professional and top competitive tennis from around the world. Thomas also has a website called SetupTennis.com that has more than 4,000 players signed up who are interested in finding a tennis match.

Thomas was an avid player in high school and college. He was the Michigan High School singles champion in 1975 and 1976 and he was the Big Ten Conference singles champion in 1979 and a finalist in 1980 at Wisconsin. He was the national men’s 35 USTA Grass Court Doubles champion in 1994 and also won the national men’s 40 USTA Grass Court Doubles championship in 1995.

He also enjoyed success in advertising. After managing three different automobile accounts for three separate firms, he was hired by Lexus in 1989 to develop their advertising and marketing strategies for the launch of the Lexus Division in the United States. He was with Lexus for 17 years and, while at Lexus, produced live global press conferences, vehicle introductions and concert series.

He then left Lexus to begin his webcasting company, Tennis Telecom Inc.
