Cezhan Ambrose

    Assistant Tennis Coach
A former men’s tennis player at Cal State L.A., Cezhan Ambrose joins the coaching staff of the women’s tennis program as an assistant coach. He competed for the Golden Eagles from 2000-02.

Ambrose earned several academic honors while at Cal State L.A. and was on the Dean’s List. He also earned the team’s sportsmanship award in voting by his coach and teammates.

He also has experience competing at the national level and played in some events on the ITF and Challenger Circuits. He had his best results in 2009 when he reached the quarterfinals in doubles at the National Hard Court Championships with partner Erik Pupkowski.

That same year, Ambrose and Pupkowski earned their way into the Calabasas Challenger qualifying event by winning a local wildcard event. Ambrose achieved a national ranking of No. 98 and has been ranked as high as No. 38 in the Southern California region in singles and No. 5 in doubles. He is currently ranked No. 386 in the United States in the latest ITF rankings.

Ambrose has extensive coaching experience, including working with the current No. 1 girls player at Harvard-Westlake, where he attended high school. He has also trained with and competed against many world-class tennis players.

Ambrose has worked as a financial advisor since 2004.
