Breezie Jordan

After helping the Golden Eagles to another appearance in the NCAA Division II playoffs in 2010, Breezie Jordan returns for her third season as an assistant coach with Cal State L.A.’s volleyball program.

The Golden Eagles have advanced to the NCAA playoffs in each of Jordan’s first two years with the program and have an overall record of 39-20. Cal State L.A. finished with a record of 16-11 in 2010 and earned the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Division II West Region playoffs. The Golden Eagles fell in a tough five-set match to No. 2 seed Seattle Pacific in the first round.

The Golden Eagles finished the 2009 season with a 23-9 overall record and a national ranking of 15. Cal State L.A. qualified for the NCAA playoffs as the No. 6 seed in the West and beat No. 3 seed Sonoma State and No. 2 seed UC San Diego before falling to top-seed and tournament host Cal State San Bernardino in the title match.

Jordan came to Cal State L.A. from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, where she was an assistant coach at the NCAA Division III program. She helped the program post a 19-12 overall record in 2008.

Prior to that, Jordan was a coach at Whittier College and Pasadena City College. After graduating from college in 2005, she took over coaching responsibilities for the junior varsity program at Glendora High School, where she was also an assistant coach on the varsity team.

Jordan also has club coaching experience and was a head coach for Club West for two years. Jordan’s U-16 team qualified for the 2009 Junior Olympics and finished fifth, one match away from earning a bronze medal. She was also an assistant coach for Top Gun Volleyball Club’s gold medal team at the 18-and-under JO Invitational in 2005.

Jordan graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Apparel Merchandising and Management. She was a four-year starter for the Broncos and played as a libero, defensive specialist and back-up setter. As a senior, she helped Cal Poly Pomona to a 24-3 overall record and a share of the California Collegiate Athletic Association championship.
