Hannah Bolton

A talented coach with impressive NCAA Division 1 and club experience, Hannah Bolton is a welcome addition to the Cal State LA women’s soccer program as an assistant coach. Bolton comes to Cal State LA from Grand Canyon University, where she spent the past six seasons.

Bolton was an assistant coach for Grand Canyon for two seasons, helping the Lopes to a Western Athletic Conference Tournament title in 2024 and an NCAA Division I Tournament spot. She helped the team to a 14-5-4 overall record. In her first year with the program, the Lopes went 11-7-2 and reached the WAC Tournament semifinals.

In her two seasons with the program, the Lopes had a 25-12-6 record.

Bolton was also the Grand Canyon Club Sports’ head women’s soccer coach for six seasons from 2018-2024, beginning her tenure as a player-coach from 2016-18.

She also coached youth soccer in Arizona, guiding the Phoenix Rising FC from 2019-24. She was also an assistant coach for Hamilton High School in Chandler, Ariz., where she helped the Huskies reach the state championship game in 2020.

She got her start coaching youth teams from U-11 to U-16 from 2014-16.

Bolton originally attended Portland State, where she ran cross country and track in 2013-14. She then attended Lane Community College in Eugune, Ore. and played soccer for the Titans in 2014-15. Bolton was the captain on a team that won the Northwest Athletic Conference Southern Region championship in 2015.

Bolton then transferred to Grand Canyon, where she was a player-coach in club sports at Grand Canyon from 2016-18. She also played in the inaugural season for FC Arizona’s Women’s Professional Soccer League and was the team’s first All-WPSL West Region honoree in 2019.

Bolton earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Grand Canyon in 2018 and received her Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in sports business in 2022.

Bolton also has her U.S. Soccer National “C” Coaching License.
