Summary

Biography

2013-14: Had a strong third season with the Golden Eagles in her final year with the program. Appeared in 18 games and played a total of 190 minutes. Averaged 1.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. Had season-highs with six points and seven rebounds at Cal Poly Pomona (2-22-14). Played a season-high 27 minutes and had two points and six rebounds in a 58-49 win over Cal State East Bay (1-31-14). For her career, appeared in 77 games with 35 starts. Played a total of 1,145 minutes. Averaged 2.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

2012-13: Had an outstanding second season with the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 31 games and started 27 times. Led the team in rebounding with 6.8 rebounds per game. Earned California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships All-Tournament team honors after helping lead the Golden Eagles to the title game for a second straight year. Tied a career high with 14 points and had six rebounds in semi-final win over Chico State (3-9-13). Also had 14 points and 13 rebounds in a win over BYU-Hawaii (12-18-12). Had a career-high 15 rebounds in win over San Francisco State (2-15-13). Reached double figures in scoring three times and in rebounds seven times.

2011-12: Had a strong first season with the Golden Eagles. Appeared in 28 games and started eight times. Averaged 2.3 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Had a season-high 11 points and seven rebounds in a win at Cal State Stanislaus (1-13-12). Had eight points and a season-high 11 rebounds in a win against Humboldt State (1-6-12).

At L.A. Valley College: Was the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2010-11 and earned first-team All-Western State South Conference honors. Averaged 14.6 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. Was third in the conference in field-goal percentage at 51 percent and fifth in rebounding.

At Walnut High School: Was a four-year varsity player. Was a two-time San Antonio League Most Valuable Player and also earned first-team All-CIF honors in 2007 and 2008. Also earned All-League honors in 2005 and 2006. Competed in basketball and track and field. Finished her Walnut basketball career as the program’s all-time leading scorer and No. 2 rebounder.

Personal: Daughter of Ricardo and Annabelle Najera. Majoring in Kinesiology with an option in adaptive PE. Enjoys cooking. Lists beating UC San Diego at the buzzer in the CCAA Championship Tournament as her most exciting experience in sports.
