Kenny Clark

A veteran coach with a successful and varied background, Kenny Clark joins the Cal State L.A. women’s basketball program as an assistant coach. Clark spent the past five years in Oklahoma City working with basketball scouting services.

Prior to that, Clark was the head coach of the Al Sadd Basketball Club, a team in the Qatar Professional Basketball League in Doha, Qatar, in 2008.

Clark was also an assistant men’s basketball coach at NCAA Division I University of New Orleans in 2006-07.

Clark spent the majority of his coaching career as an assistant coach for Oklahoma City University, where he was a men’s assistant coach for a program that won a pair of NAIA national championships. During his 13 years with the program, the men’s team qualified for the national tournament 12 times and compiled a 315-96 won-loss record. The team had a 22-10 record in the national tournament, won six Sooner Athletic Conference Championships, five Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Championships and had 15 NAIA All-Americans.

Clark began his college coaching career as a men’s basketball assistant coach at the University of Texas Pan American from 1988-91. Previously, he coached and taught at a pair of Texas high schools.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

Clark is from Caney, Kansas.

His wife, Debra, is an early childhood teacher. Their daughter, Keesie Clark, lives in Oklahoma and their son, John Clark, is a senior at St. Gregory’s University in Oklahoma.
