Biography

2025: Had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in his third year with the program and was one of the team’s best players. Was the only player to start all 19 games for Cal State LA and led the team with 1,492 minutes played. Had two goals and two assists for six points. Was tied for fourth on the team in scoring. Scored his first career goal when he headed in a corner kick from Emiliano Gutierrez to open the scoring in the 28th minute of a 2-0 win over Fresno Pacific on Sept. 4. Scored his second goal on a free kick just outside the box in the 22nd minute of a 2-2 tie with Cal Poly Humboldt on Oct. 26. Had an assist on a goal by Emiliano Gutierrez in the 82nd minute of a 2-0 win over Hawaii-Hilo on Sept. 6 and had an assist on a goal by Anthony Lopez in the 42nd minute of a 3-2 win over Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 31. Played a career-high 104 minutes in an NCAA Tournament game against UCCS on Nov. 21. Earned 2025 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition.

2024: Had a second outstanding season for the Golden Eagles and showed impressive improvement in his second year with the program. Appeared in all 21 games with nine starts. Played a total of 1,126 minutes. Had two assists for two points. Started the first three games for the Golden Eagles, all shutouts, and made six starts in a row from Sept. 28-Oct. 17. Started and played all 90 minutes in a season-opening 2-0 win at Fresno Pacific on Sept. 5. Picked up his first assist of the season in a 2-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sept. 28. Drilled a shot in the 76th minute that hit the post and was put in by Emil Kischka. Had the primary assist on a goal by Andrew Portis in the 85th minute that was the difference in a 2-1 win over Cal Poly Humboldt on Oct. 13.

2023: Had an outstanding season for the Golden Eagles in his first year with the program. Appeared in 21 games with 12 starts. Played a total of 1,249 minutes. Had two assists for two points. Made his Cal State LA debut and played 16 minutes in a 1-0 win over Regis on Aug. 31. Made his first career start and played 83 minutes in a 1-0 win at Cal Poly Pomona on Oct. 12. Started the final 12 games of the season for the Golden Eagles, including all games at the California Collegiate Athletic Association and NCAA Division II tournaments. Picked up the first assist of his Cal State LA career on a goal by Aidan Wait in the 89th minute of a 4-2 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Nov. 2. Recorded his second assist on a goal by Wait in the 58th minute of an NCAA national quarterfinal match against Colorado State Pueblo on Dec. 3. Played a season-high 95 minutes in the game vs. Colorado State Pueblo.

At Leuzinger High School: Earned the team’s Most Valuable Player award and the Sportsmanship Award. Was on the school’s Honor Roll. Competed in soccer, football and track and field.

Personal: Son of Hector Antuna and Vanessa Chavez. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys running, hiking, sports analyzing and cooking. Lists making it to the Elite Eight as a freshman at Cal State LA as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he loves going on road trips with his teammates and getting to see beautiful cities.
