At Cerritos College: Appeared in 45 games with 41 starts in his two years with the program. Had 18 goals and 16 assists for 52 points. Earned first-team All-South Coast Conference honors as a sophomore after scoring 14 goals with seven assists for 35 points. Was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Earned second-team All-South Coast Conference South Division honors as a freshman after starting 21 of the team’s 22 games and tying for second with 17 points. Had four goals and a team-high nine assists.

At Warren High School: Team won a league championship in his junior season. Earned all-San Gabriel Valley League honors.

Personal: Son of Jose Luis Serna and Karina Lopez. Majoring in Kinesiology. Enjoys video games. Lists scoring two goals with his team trailing Mt. SAC, 1-0, to win the game, 2-1, as his most exciting experience in sports. Notes he was born in Acapulco, Mexico, and has two siblings – an older sister and a younger brother.
