IRVINE -- After a bit of a layoff, Cal State LA's beach volleyball team returned to the courts on Wednesday and faced a pair of top NCAA Division II programs.

The Golden Eagles (2-8) fell to Concordia and Colorado Mesa by 5-0 scores at the Great Park in Irvine. 

Juliana Speiski and Ayjah Landers competed as the team's No. 1 pair, Jameson Sanders and Samarah DaCoud were the No. 2 pair, Tehya Chadwick and Zuhal Cetin were the No. 3 pair, Rebecca Topete and Rebeca Marquez were the No. 4 pair and Arielle Chandler and Karina Talavera were the No. 5 pair.

Cal State LA will return to action on April 8 for matches against CSUN and Cal State Bakersfield in Northridge.
