LOS ANGELES -- Cal State LA's Sofia Fidelus has been named the first FloCollege/CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the 2025-26 season, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Fidelus led the Golden Eagles to two wins in the CCAA/GNAC Challenge in Seattle as they picked up two key in-region non-conference wins against Seattle Pacific and Western Washington. Fidelus averaged 20.5 points and six rebounds per game. She was lights out from long distance and made six three-pointers on 10 attempts while converting on 9 of 10 free throws.
The junior guard from Pittsburg, Calif., was 13-for-32 shooting from the field and had five assists and two steals. Against Seattle Pacific on Friday, Fidelus scored 24 points and pulled nine rebounds with three assists and two steals in the team's 75-63 win. In Saturday's 79-78 win over Western Washington, she chipped in 17 points and three rebounds with two assists.
This is Fidelus's first CCAA Player of the Week award and Cal State LA's first since the start of the 2024-25 season when Lily Buggs earned the award for the week of Nov. 4-10, 2024.
Cal State LA will be at Azusa Pacific (1-1) later on Tuesday before the Thanksgiving break and the start of the conference season on Dec. 4.Â
