ATLANTA -- Cal State LA's Nicole Flennaugh, who leads the nation in 3-point field goals per game, has earned 2023 WBCA All-America honorable mention, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced on Friday.

Flennaugh, who just completed her third season with the Golden Eagles, broke her own single-season program record for 3-pointers with 99 and already holds the program and California Collegiate Athletic Association career record with 255.

Her 3.4 made 3-pointers per game currently lead the nation on the eve of the Division II Elite Eight, which begins on Monday. Her 99 3-pointers are tied for third.

Flennaugh had a sensational season for the Golden Eagles in 2022-23 and helped them reach the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2006 and for just the third time in program history. She led the team in scoring for a second straight season with 15.4 points per game and was third in the conference in scoring. She was also second in the conference in minutes played.

The WBCA named its 10-player All-America team on Friday that included Player of the Year Brooke Olson of Minnesota Duluth and Dawnyel Lair of Cal State Dominguez Hills. Samantha Bowman of Central Washington was the only other player from the West Region on the team.

Flennaugh was one of 30 players who earned honorable mention. Brooke Walling of Western Washington and Abby Spurgin of Hawaii Pacific were the only other West Region players recognized.

Flennaugh and Lair were the only two players from the California Collegiate Athletic Association to be honored on Friday.

Flennaugh becomes the first Cal State LA's women's basketball player since Monica Tokoro to earn WBCA All-America recognition.
