NAMPA, IDAHO -- Cal State LA's men's soccer team got a late goal from
Robin Lindahl and posted its second shutout in two games on Saturday.
Lindahl scored in the 76th minute and the Golden Eagles allowed only four shots during a 1-0 win over Saint Martin's at the NNU Field at Northwest Nazarene. Cal State LA (2-0) has allowed only eight shots in its first two wins over Great Northwest Athletic Conference opponents.
Cal State LA had a 17-4 advantage in shots over the Saints (0-2), including a 13-3 edge in the second half. Opportunities were tough to come by in the opening half, which ended in a scoreless tie and Cal State LA holding a 4-1 edge in shots. The Golden Eagles fired off 13 shots in the second half, 10 of them on goal. Saint Martin's goalkeeper Griffin Small made 11 saves to keep his squad in the game.

Alexander Brems did not need to make a save for his second shutout, but he did stand tall on a last-second attempt by Saint Martin's Jason Fairhurst in the waning seconds of the match that went high.
Cal State LA also had an 8-5 edge in corner kicks.
Eddie Leon had a match-high four shots, including two on goal.
Nick Nelson had three shots, all three of them on target. Klefisch and Lindahl had two shots on goal each.
The game was scoreless until Lindahl's goal in the 76th minute. A pass from
Tim Klefisch set up a racing Lindahl, who fired off a shot inside the box inside the far post for his first goal of the season and third in his Cal State LA career. The assist was Klefisch's first of the season.
The Golden Eagles will return to action on Thursday with their 2018 home opener. Cal State LA will face defending GNAC champion and preseason favorite Simon Fraser at 1 p.m.
