LOS ANGELES – The Cal State L.A. tennis team brought their winning streak to nine matches as they routed the Dominican Penguins at the Forest Meadows Tennis Courts in San Rafael, 9-0. Cal State L.A. improves to 9-2 overall.
The Golden Eagles swept the doubles portion of the dual match before dominating Dominican in singles action. Of the 77 games played over 12 sets, Cal State L.A. dropped just five. All six Golden Eagles won in straight sets, and four recorded clean sweeps, 6-0, 6-0.
Jennifer Avila went undefeated for the day, having swept her singles opponent after recording an 8-0 set with doubles partner
Isis Jackson.
Krishana De Silva,
Rona Miller, and
Bojana Ducanovic also recorded shutouts in both of their sets. Four Golden Eagles also accomplished the feat on March, 6 against Biola.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday, March 23, as they resume CCAA action against the Sonoma State Seawolves.
