Cal State L.A. Womens Soccer Ties Cal State San Bernardino, Finishes Third Consecutive Winning Season

LOS ANGELES –The Golden Eagles outshot Cal State San Bernardino, 20-5, but ended their 2006 campaign with a scoreless draw against their CCAA rival. With that, Cal State L.A. finishes the season with an overall record of 9-7-3, and a CCAA Conference record of 7-6-3. This season is the third consecutive winning season for the Golden Eagles women's soccer program.

Erica Prado led all players with six shots and the team recorded 11 shots on goal. Throughout the 2006 season, Prado took a team-high 39 shots, of which two resulted in goals. Prado also led the team in scoring, tallying 12 points on two goals and eight assists.

In goal, Reyna Coca recorded three saves, bringing her season total to 99. In 18 matches, she posted a 1.23 goals against average and a save percentage of .818. Coca earned nine wins and a tie, including four shutouts.

Despite their record, the Golden Eagles missed out on making the postseason CCAA Championship Tournament. However, with several key players expected to return for next year's campaign, the future looks bright for the Golden Eagles women's soccer team.
