Dallas Jaussi

An award-winning coach with NCAA Division I experience, Dallas Jaussi returns for his eighth year with the Cal State LA men’s soccer coaching staff. Jaussi was promoted to associate head coach following the 2023 season after helping the Golden Eagles to another championship season.

Jaussi was instrumental in yet another outstanding season in 2024. The Golden Eagles were ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation and stretched their unbeaten streak to a program-record 30 games in a row during the season. Cal State LA finished the season ranked 11th in the country after compiling a 12-3-6 record that included a 5-1-5 mark in conference play.

The Golden Eagles hosted a Super Region 4 second-round match for a fifth consecutive season and reached the Super Region 4 semifinals for the fourth time in five seasons. Cal State LA was the furthest advancing team from the West, also for the fourth time in five seasons.

In his first six seasons with the program, Jaussi has helped the Golden Eagles to an overall record of 97-12-21, including a 51-4-12 mark in conference play. In that span, Cal State LA has won one national title, two Super Region 4 titles, three CCAA regular-season titles and four CCAA Tournament crowns.

Jaussi earned his promotion to associate head coach after Cal State LA enjoyed another tremendous season in 2023. The Golden Eagles posted one of the best overall records in program history with an 18-1-3 mark that included a 10-1 record in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and conference regular-season and tournament titles.

The Golden Eagles earned the No. 2 seed in the Super Region 4 and hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament for a fourth straight season. Cal State LA advanced to the Super Region 4 championship match for the third time in four seasons before falling in penalty kicks to Colorado State-Pueblo.

Jaussi was a key part of the staff that was honored as the NCAA Division II West Region Coaching Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches after leading the Golden Eagles to a third conference regular-season title in four years and a third straight conference tournament title.

Jaussi helped the Golden Eagles to a 15-2-3 overall record in 2022 in a sensational follow-up to the 2021 national championship season. The Golden Eagles won the CCAA Tournament championship for a second straight season and were the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Super Region 4 for a second straight season.

Jaussi was a key part of the United Soccer Coaches 2021 National Staff of the Year that directed Cal State LA to its first-ever NCAA championship. The coaching staff did a magnificent job navigating the Golden Eagles through a missed season of competition in 2020 due to COVID and then promptly returning to championship form in 2021.

The Golden Eagles captured all four championships available to them – the CCAA regular-season and tournament titles, a second straight NCAA Super Region 4 title and then the NCAA Division II title in Colorado Springs, Colo. Cal State LA finished the season with an 18-2-3 overall record.

Jaussi helped the Golden Eagles to a historic season in 2019. Cal State LA won CCAA and Super Region 4 championships and advanced to the national championship game. The Golden Eagles set a new program record for winning percentage after a sensational 19-1-3 campaign. Cal State LA reached the national title game for the first time since 1981.

In his first year at Cal State LA, Jaussi helped the Golden Eagles continue their high level of success in 2018. Cal State LA won its second straight CCAA Tournament title and finished the season with a 15-3-3 overall record. The Golden Eagles reached the second round of the NCAA playoffs.

Before coming to Cal State LA, Jaussi was an assistant coach and director of operations at UC Irvine for three seasons. As an assistant, he would help plan all training sessions as well as coach during those sessions. He would assist with game day tactical strategies, all game day operations and be a point of contest for visiting teams. As director of operations, Jaussi would submit and save all training sessions, lead youth camps, connect with alumni and plan team events.

Jaussi helped coach and develop three All-Big West Conference first team selections, five second-team selections and three All-Freshman team selections. That list included Giovanni Godoy, who was the Big West Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2017.

He is currently a head coach and the college recruitment advisor for California Football Academy (CFA) and an assistant varsity coach for Newport Harbor’s girls’ team. In 2014, Jaussi coached his U17 Boys to a Cal South State Championship and the team was an USYSA regional finalist. In 2022, his 2007 girls team won the US Club Soccer SoCal State Championship. This same team would win the 2023 Surf Cup Championship and the 2023 Surf College Cup Championship.

His college playing career started at Colorado State University-Pueblo, where he played for his first two seasons, and then Southern Virginia University, where he led the program in scoring as a redshirt sophomore and earned academic honors.

He played with the Seattle Sounders Football Club during the 2009 season and was a member of the Madison Dragons FC in 2007-09. He also had trials with the Portland Timbers and Kitsap Pumas in 2009.

Jaussi earned his Master’s degree in coaching and exercise science from Concordia-Irvine and earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from BYU-Idaho with a minor in psychology.  He also holds a USSF “B” license.

He lives in Costa Mesa with his wife, Amanda.
