A two-time NAIA national champion in the pole vault, Jordan Savidge joins the Cal State L.A. track and field program as an assistant coach for the multi-events, pole vault and jumps for the men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams. Savidge comes to Cal State L.A. from Los Osos High School, where he was an assistant track and field coach in 2011.
Savidge won NAIA national titles in the pole vault in 2009 and 2010 while at Azusa Pacific. He was also a California junior college state champion in the pole vault at Mt. San Antonio College in 2007. He was Mt. SAC’s Spring Athlete of the Year in 2007.
He competed in football, basketball and track and field at Smith Valley High School in Smith Valley, Nevada. He was a three-time state champion in the pole vault and the 2005 Gatorade Athlete of the Year in Nevada.
Savidge earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Azusa Pacific. He enjoys playing the guitar.
