Arjan Dougan

Arjan Dougan serves as Cal State LA's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and oversees all 14 NCAA Division II sports.

Dougan is concurrently pursuing his PhD in Biomechanics at Edith Cowan University, Australia.
 
He earned his Master’s degree (Kinesiology) at Cal State Fullerton in 2016 where he served as the graduate assistant coach for the Titans, heading the Strength & Conditioning program for the NCAA Division 1 sports of Men’s and Women’s Golf, Women’s Tennis, Cross Country and Throwing.
 
Prior to joining the Titans in 2015, Dougan assisted in the high performance program at the Western Australian Institute of Sport in Perth, Western Australia. Dougan worked with Olympic and National competitors in the sports of Water Polo, Rowing, Field Hockey, Pole Vault and Netball.

From 2013-2014, Dougan served as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Wanneroo Rugby Club in Perth, Western Australia.

Preceding his stint with Wanneroo Rugby Club, Dougan spent time in the private sector as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach with Athletes Performance Academy in Perth, Western Australia.

Dougan obtained his Bachelor’s degree (Exercise and Health Science) in 2014 at The University of Western Australia in Perth, Western Australia and possesses the following qualifications;
  • Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC)
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • United States Olympic Weight Lifting Club Coach (USAW-1)
  • Level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach (Australian Strength & Conditioning Association)
  • ASCA Pro-Scheme Professional Coach (Australian Strength & Conditioning Association)
  • State/Level 2 Weightlifting Coach (Australian Weightlifting Federation)
  • Certified Sports Nutrionist (CISSN)
  • Functional Movement Specialist (FMS)
