Tina Howard was a member of the Cal State L.A. track and field team from 1983-85 and is part of the record-setting 4x400 relay team that still holds the program record today. Her sisters, Sherri and Denean, were also inducted into the Cal State L.A. Hall of Fame in 1992.
Howard teamed up with sisters Sherri and Denean and Sharon Dabney to set the 4x400 relay mark of 3:30.25 in 1985. She is part of the four fastest 4x400 relay teams in the program’s history and six of the top 10.
She still appears in the top-10 in two events at Cal State L.A. Her best time in the 400 was 54.34 and her best time in the 800 was 2:10.2. Both times were set in 1984.
