Cal State L.A.’s only two-time baseball All-American, Tim Corcoran played for four Major League Baseball teams for a total of nine years. He hit .341 in 102 games as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies in 1984. His first major league hit was a home run with the Detroit Tigers in 1977.

Corcoran led Cal State L.A. to back-to-back Pacific Coast Athletic Association championships in 1973 and 1974. He led the team in hitting both seasons and had a lifetime career batting average of .350.

He earned All-West Coast honors twice while at Cal State L.A. He signed as a free agent with Detroit in 1974 and played for the Tigers from 1977-80. He also played for Minnesota in 1981, Philadelphia from 1983-85 and with the New York Mets in 1986.
