Jim Weatherwax was a key part of Cal State L.A.’s championship football teams of 1964 and 1965. He helped Cal State L.A. win the national championship during an undefeated season in 1964 and he was a big reason why Cal State L.A. repeated as California Collegiate Athletic Association champions in 1965.
Weatherwax earned AP Little All-Coast honorable mention in 1964 when Cal State L.A. was voted National Champions by the UPI. In 1965, he earned first-team All-CCAA honors and was named to UPI’s Little All-Coast second team as an offensive lineman. He was a two-way starter on the line for Cal State L.A. and was named the team’s Most Valuable Lineman.
Weatherwax was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 11th round of the 1965 draft. He played in 34 games during three professional seasons (1966, 1967 and 1969).
Weatherwax was a member of the Super Bowl I champion Packers.
