Jesus Gonzalez was a four-year letterwinner in men’s soccer with the Golden Eagles from 1991-94. He was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Year in 1992.

Gonzalez was a two-time team Most Valuable Player and he still appears in several of the program’s career categories. He is third in career goals (44) and third in career points (51).

He scored 23 goals in 1982, which is still the second-highest single-season total in the program’s history. His 51 points that season are the third-highest single-season total. Gonzalez is Cal State L.A.’s all-time leader with five hat tricks (three goals in a game).
