Jay Moxley won the NCAA’s first-ever College Division diving championship and he swept the one and three-meter board competitions in 1964, scoring so well that he could have failed his last two dives and still won the events.
He was also a semi-finalist in University Division competition that year and earned All-America honors. Moxley won California Collegiate Athletic Association and California State College diving championships in 1962, 1963 and 1964.
He also placed in the State College gymnastics meet in 1964.
